New Year-Healthier You

Happy New Year to everyone!!!!! Life remains topsy-turvy, but that is okay. One of the leading choices for resolutions this year is self-care. If you have not already begun to take better care of yourself, it’s not too late to begin. Have you decided what small steps you want to take? I’m focusing upon reading more, educating myself in a more broad fashion, and just being more relaxed. I am continuing my workouts and watching my diet, but it’s more encompassing regarding what I want to achieve this year. So much has changed and continues to change, but we can turn this to a positive.

Remember, in our mindfulness series, we discussed setting the right tone. Begin with clearing your mind, each morning. Wake up and smile and determine that this is going to be a fantastic day. You have time to pursue the art classes online you never seemed to find time for before the pandemic, or you have time to really reflect and dream of what you would like to be doing as we go forward. You can make some tough choices and start removing negative people, negative environments, and negative habits from your repertoire.

Begin each day with a smile, think of how blessed you are. You maintain a job or you now have the time to go after the career you want or start the business you dreamed of starting for years. You have time to eat a healthy breakfast and outline your must do activities for the day. You have time to workout and really focus on filling your mind with happy thoughts, with positive quotes, you can redecorate your office or home office to suit your visions and keep those dreams in front of you all day long. You can listen to music while you work, softly in the background, so as not to disturb any phone conversations that may need to occur during your workday.

Start now, start today, start to imagine and dream of what you want to see change in your current life. Start writing down ideas every morning to set yourself up to be creative and thoughtful throughout the day. Sit down and start journaling and recording what you need to have to make your dreams a reality. Make that vision board, electronically or manually with photos that inspire you. Add the music when you are focusing on those photos to enhance the emotional impact. See yourself already there and let the feelings that you will experience when you get there take over your body now. Let’s make 2021 the best year in many years and keep trying to make the years ahead better, stronger, and happier.
