Friday Motivation

Good morning!!!! I hope everyone is having a great Friday. I know that not everyone is blessed to wake up, let alone to wake up to a sunny and beautiful crisp fall morning. To everyone who is battling a natural disaster, illness, or some other crisis; I hope this helps and the words resonate hope. I thought for today, we would focus on gratitude and to remind ourselves that the tough times do not last. I know it can feel like there is no end when we are in the midst of a crisis, but it does end and we come out stronger.

So, as we go into this weekend; if we are healthy, let’s be thankful. If we are battling illness, let us continue to breathe and to remember we can heal. If we are grieving, let us remember the good and happy times with our loved one whom we are missing. There are many ways we can turn around the mood or the day, if things are heading in the wrong direction. Sometimes it is harder than others, but we can make changes. We just have to remember to keep fighting. Gratitude can remind us of so many important reasons to be happy, and sometimes those reasons are taken for granted.

If we have loving families, be grateful. If our families are healthy and coping well with the current status of the pandemic, be grateful. If we are healthy, be grateful. If we can continue to pay the bills right now, be grateful. If we are breathing, be grateful. I know this seems repetitive, but it is to remind us even the smallest of reasons can bring hope. If we are not facing the loss of a limb, the need to have a machine helping us breathe, if we are not watching a loved one slowly slip away with a disease, then we can be thankful. If we are caring for a loved one in his or her final days, then do everything you can to make them comfortable.

Smile more often at everyone. As I stated before, you can detect a smile under a mask. Hold the door for another individual coming in behind you. Even if you are not thanked for your efforts, then do not dwell on the lack of appreciation; know that you committed an act of kindness. Pay for someone’s coffee who is behind you in line at Starbucks or some other coffee store. Go pay off someone’s lay away at a local retail store, if you have that capacity. This will be appreciated now more than ever with the current status of unemployment and the pandemic issues.

As we go into the weekend, please remember; our health and well-being are affected by many things. Our diet, our activity level, our performance of good deeds, our practice of staying on top of our medical status; all of these are factors that work for us or against us. Have a safe and healthy weekend and as always; stay healthy, stay hydrated, and stay focused!!!!!
