How can we make life better-starting NOW

Good morning!!!!! Happy Thursday. So, we have had some things to think about and consider in the last two blogs. Who we are/who we are not and believing in ourselves. Accentuating the positive is probably one of the hardest things for most individuals. So, how can we start making our daily lives better, right now????? How can we even begin to find positive with so much going on right now? Well, each day has positive events; our brains just have to be retrained to find them. The first thing in the positive column that we can do is STOP listening or reading news stories every 5 minutes.

Smile when we see someone at the store, even if they are a stranger. You can see a smile behind a mask. Say hello and ask a complete stranger how they are doing. Take some time to sit in nature and enjoy the warmth of the sun, the sounds of nature, the sheer beauty around you. Go sit on the beach for just 30 minutes and really listen to the water. I loved taking my children to the beach when we went on vacation. I actually focused on letting the waves come in a take my stress and then remove that stress when the waves washed back out to sea. It’s amazing how well this can work.

We can do the same with the wind. If you close your eyes, and the wind is blowing (not hurricane force winds), then you can also liken the winds to the waves crashing on the shore. Another great idea is to simply take some time, fill up the tub, light some candles, use aroma therapy with scented epsom salts or candles, or even essential oils in the bath water. Put on some soothing music, close your eyes, and just relax. I know some of this information has been provided before, but stress can increase risk of illness and disease. Health and well-being do not include stress, illness or disease.

So, as we start to wind down for a refreshing weekend; remember, take time to smell the flowers, take time to celebrate you, take time to appreciate the beauty surrounding you every day. Stay positive. Smile more often. Listen to soothing music, binaural beat music, or jazz. Take time to reset your mind, read happy stories, read for improvement. Practice healthy habits, eat whole foods, drink water. We deserve to move forward in a happy way, in a way that doesn’t restrict our ability to move, to play, and to have fun. Stay hydrated, stay focused, and stay healthy!!!!
