Paradigms and their impact

Good morning everyone!!!!! So we continue today with paradigms and today we look at how they impact our life. As noted yesterday, when we repeatedly tell ourselves negative information and reinforce that negativity with validating circumstances, we are behaving in a self-defeating manner. Yes, it is not easy to go to the gym every day and workout or watch what you are eating all the time, but examine the alternative cost. Behaviors are ingrained over time, so why not make positive behavioral changes?

Imagine getting up every day, full of energy, feeling happy and ready to tackle the world? Unrealistic? Not really!!!! We choose what our day will be like the moment we open our eyes. If we open our eyes and immediately think, “Oh no, not another day of…..,” then we have already set the tone for negative actions and behaviors. We scuffle out to the kitchen for our caffeine fix so we can try to contemplate the easiest way to pass the day.

Why not start the day with some early (and by early I mean 4:30-5:00 am early) meditation? Why not clear all the negative from our mind and body and focus on breathing? Why not focus on being grateful for just three things to start the day? Then why not head to the kitchen for a small glass of warm water with fresh lemon juice? Now we cleanse the body and start with water!!!!! What if we then immersed ourselves in a challenging workout and really pushed our bodies to perform at their best?

I think you are seeing the point. When we focus on happy, positive information and actions, our days are now becoming filled with gratitude, with happiness, with less stress. We begin to realize how joyful our time is and how we can make our time better and maybe even help someone else along the way. We start to strengthen and tone our bodies to make the “heavy lifting” easier. We maintain good health and reduce risk of disease to the best of our ability. By the way, negative outlooks, high stress and overall poor health are associated with disease.

So, as you begin to tackle today, reframe your attitude if needed. Be thankful for not having COVID-19 or for not being in a hospital right now being diagnosed or treated for cancer. Then make a true effort to drink more water today, to eat an extra piece of fruit, or to take a walk after you leave work. Enjoy the sunshine, the beauty of nature, and remember; stay healthy, stay hydrated, and stay focused. You got this!!!!!
