Vision – How to create tomorrow, today

I hope everyone is doing well. Today, we continue on our journey to create new visions and to really find effective ways to achieve a new reality; a healthier reality. Science already backs exercise as a way to preserve cognitive health and to reduce stress. Science has also proven that exercise boosts the immune system. So, why then do we continue to try and avoid exercise or negate the benefits derived from working out? Maybe it is the terminology and the images conjured up with words.

Have you ever really examined the way words can impact how another person interprets a message? Is the message positive or negative? Tonality of voice also impacts message delivery and message receipt. Our brains are wired as transmission and receiver stations. Did you know this? Maybe not on a conscious level, but at some point, when you think about the information we share through writing or speaking (transmission), then it begins to make sense. Also, that overwhelmed and tired feeling when listening to local and national news on a continuous basis (receiving), again, now we can see the transmission/receiver link to our brains.

As we begin to examine how to create a better tomorrow, remember our starting point from yesterday. Sit down with a notepad and write down small things at first that you want to change. Starting with small, short-term changes will help you build the foundation for a positive behavioral change. So, once you have your list, then start examining ways to gain knowledge about why it is important to make those changes. For example, if you chose to work out lowering cholesterol, remember, you want to do your research, starting with your health professional about the dangers of high cholesterol levels.

Once you have successfully completed a week of positive changes, work on expanding that out to 30 days, then 60 days, and so on. As you build the foundation for healthier and more positive lifestyle habits, then you start creating tomorrow, today!!!! You also start to rewire what information you will allow into the mind, changing potentially negative paradigms and creating the opportunity to make new paradigms that are beneficial. We are born with certain traits, but habits develop as a product of environment and reinforcement. We often repeatedly see a depressed economy and maybe we truly like where we live, but we realize that financially, the only way to change that aspect is to move to a financially stronger region, work multiple jobs, or seek out a way to address a problem where you are and help your community while you help yourself.

This information probably sounds familiar if you read any self-help books or research motivational speakers and coaching videos or articles. The reason it is similar across the board is because it works. The difference is the coach learning what makes you unique and how to help you change your habits based on YOU. Each individual is different for many reasons, but helping him or her unlock full potential and to become stronger, healthier, and happier, is a purposeful pursuit. Be your own star!!! I hope you enjoy today’s blog and the series this week on vision. As always, stay healthy, stay focused and stay hydrated.
